You can work towards an SQA Qualification if you want to. You decide what you want to learn, make a learning plan and work on your own with a tutor or in a small group. RaW RaW is a new BBC campaign to encourage people to read and write more through informal online learning and on the ground activities. www.bbc.co.uk/raw The People's Network The People's Network is the network of computers for public use in local libraries. You can learn online in your library and participate in the ‘Help Yourself to Learning scheme (see below) There is a Help Yourself to Learning Project tutor based in Hawick Library and courses on accessing online learning and online literacies learning are available in Hawick and Peebles. Help Yourself to Learning Help Yourself is a collection of books and workbooks to help people support themselves in the reading, writing and number tasks that they may need to do as part of their everyday lives. Books may be borrowed from local libraries in the usual way and both fiction (some with audio-tape) and non-fiction are available. These collections are in the following libraries: Eyemouth, Duns, Gala, Hawick, Peebles, Selkirk, Central and Berwickshire Mobile Libraries and Langlee Community Library.
