Community Learning and Development Strategy Group: Working and learning together to build stronger communities (Scottish Executive Guidance 2004)
We work in communities to help people gain the skills and confidence to learn, take action and become involved in local decision making. We run courses and work alongside individuals and groups to help them become more confident and active in their everyday lives; this may be personal, family, community and/or working lives. The way we work is based on respect for the individual and the right to self-determination. We value the equality of people and groups and work to challenge discrimination. We recognize that learning is a lifelong process and enable people to work together to achieve common ends.
